Proves you can do a lot with a standard plot - The Bourne Supremacy Reviews

The story of this movie is not all that different from any other thriller you might see this summer, or any other summer, but the real selling point of this movie is the style and execution of the story. The action sequences of this movie are excellently executed with a manner of professionalism and even wit that I cannot deny. You know when things are about to heat up and people are going to be on the run, but you will not expect what actually happens during the action. The creative direction this movie takes with how the character of Jason Bourne deals with his adversaries is quite ingenius. I cannot say enough good things about the style and art of the action sequences in this movie. What is bad about this movie? Well, the story is convential and a bit tired, but I would not really say this is a bad thing. It is more like a trusty old jacket that never lets you down and always feels good when you slip it on over your shoulders. I wish there was more of an attempt to conceal some of the character surprises about who is really up to what in the movie since it is fairly easy to figure out on your own who did what before any revelations actually occur to this effect. But for any drawbacks this movie has, it more than makes up for in suspense and action, which I would imagine is why people would go to see this movie. If you want the definitive story of your lifetime, then you will be disappointed, but then you are also probably pretty ignorant to expect an action/thriller to provide it to you.
