I can't say enough good things about this movie. The character Jason Bourne is quickly becoming one of my favorites. This movie is so smart as is the first one. It is the thinking mans action movie. I am so sick of these mindless action movies like XXX or Bad Boy 2 etc. etc. When ever you watch a an action movie there are so many plot holes and you always ask yourself why would he do that or how did he do that. What is great about Bourne is he does everything for a reason and everything is explained to you in the movie if you pay attention. For instance why is he using his own passport to travel and then you find out that he is doing it on purpose so he is detained and then in turn can find out who is after him. The action and psycological warfare he plays with Joan Allen just makes this movie tremendous. Also the car chases. In Bourne Identity he uses the Mini and finds a route that best fits that car and in Supremacy he picks that big car because it is built like a tank and he new he was going to need a strong car because of all the congestion. Little things like that make it so awesome. I could go on and on about all the things that are so smart. I love when paople say that this is a mindless action film when in reality it is they who are mindless. I also know the major complaint is about the camera work which i though brought real grit and intensity to the movie. I thought the car chases especialy were the best aspects of the hand held cameras and wouldnt change a thing. The only scene i would think about changeing is the fight scene with the agent in the house that would be the only time I might have used a steady cam. But other than that I though the movie was shot perfectly. Another complaint I have heard is about the last scene in the movie with the Russian girl. A lot of people thought it was out of place. But I thought that was atremendous scene. What makes Bourne different from other action heros is that you dont know how to feel about him because you know in his past he was an bad man who did evil things. But i think that last scene really brings you emotionally full circle with the character and really adds depth. This review is getting long so i will ebd it here. This is definitly top 5 movies of the year.
